Abstract

The article examines the concept and structure of the world and Russian markets for space services, which do not represent a single whole and include a number of areas: the market for terrestrial user equipment, the market for the results of space activities (satellite television and radio broadcasting, broadband Internet access, etc.), the market services of operators of space systems (communications, signal relaying, global navigation, survey of ground objects); the market for rocket and space technology and space launch services, the market for space services in the interests of the country's defense and the development of fundamental sciences; the purpose of the article is to study new trends in the world market of space services, to consider the space activities of Russia; the article solves the research tasks: to study the segments of the world market of space services, to identify new trends in the market, to characterize the possibilities of practical use of the process of commercialization of space developments in various sectors of the Russian economy; it is emphasized that the volume of the world space market is constantly growing due to the rapid growth in the use of the results of space activities; the market for rocket and space technology and launch services is growing slightly, which means it will stagnate in the short term; it is noted that the provision of space services is financed from the state budget, at the same time, private commercial spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth have appeared; the leaders of the world market of space services are the USA, France and India, which provide new services and services in the struggle for expansion of sales markets; the role of Russia in the market of space activities is revealed, special attention is paid to the commercial use of space facilities for remote sensing of the Earth, the prospects for the development of the space activities market and its transformation into a sought-after business area through the formation of markets for space tourism and interplanetary spacecraft are determined, special attention is paid in Russia to the implementation of the sector space communications, the state conducts experimental flights, actively uses digital information technologies, develops information satellite systems, provides a whole range of space services of a different nature: navigation, meteorological, telecommunications and others; it is noted that the Russian market of space services in the future will develop by attracting users who will demand the updating of cartographic material, the creation of urban planning documentation, territorial development programs, space navigation, etc.; activation in the Russian market of space services is confirmed by a steady increase in the number of licenses issued for geodetic, cartographic, survey and space activities, an increase in the amount of purchased equipment for car navigation, including transport dispatching tools, the development of the space tourism market and the market for interplanetary scientific vehicles.
